Anyone had problems with 2012 Essentials and integration with Azure / Office365
it seems as though the "Windows Server Essentials Email Service" is crashing, log files give the bellow i have been googling and looking for an answer for days

it seems the dashboard thinks azure is enabled but i cant disable it running the wizard brings back "An Unknown error has occurred. check your connected to the internet "

Yeah I had a messy integration a while ago.....probably because it was a larger network (over 100 users)...the AD has been around since the Server 2000 days (so lots of upgrades)..and they had multiple domain controllers (officially not supported by the Essentials role but it can work).

Is the Microsoft Online Services Sign-in Assistant service starting fine on each reboot of the DC?

managed to fix my own issue
seems like the following key was pointing at the wrong server after edited the key to the correct DC i could remove the intergration
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows Server\ADContext]
"ConnectedDc"="server.domain.local"

it was a server migration though the old server has been de promoted for a good while, issue was noticed a month after when a user changed there password and it didn't sync :) i wish Microsoft generated a more informative error but there we go

For what it's worth, when I hit the issue I had...I opened a ticket with O365 support. I was expecting a horror story, since I knew they were not on the same level as the server support I usually deal with. To my surprise..they were kick a$$...got my issue fixed.

I wonder if one of the FSMO roles didn't go over correctly when the migration happened?
Or..did the Essentials role get installed/setup before the FSMOs were moved....hence that old entry.
