Obama after 4 years?

I will not vote for any Democrat...ever. It doesn't matter who is chosen to represent the Republican Party, they will get my vote...whether it be happily or reluctantly.

That is a pretty sad thing to say. The labels have very little to do with the men. Honestly, a guy like you should not even be voting. There are some states that allow party voting - a process that should be completely outlawed. Simply check republican or democrat at the top of the ballot and your vote is automatically cast for that party's representative in each election. This is brainless voting, nothing more. To say you will vote for a party regardless of the person is brainless voting.

By definition, such a tactic removes the need to research the individual, pay attention to their voting history, or even think about why you are voting for Joe, rather than Jim. Blind voting like this is a horrible idea.

Sadly, you misunderstand my point of view, and have incorrectly assumed an awful lot about me. It's not your fault though...there is simply too much to politics to ever understand ones point of view from a few simple posts on a forum, and I probably could have elaborated a bit.

To put it as briefly as possible, I believe that ALL politicians are corrupt, untrustworthy, unreliable people who are looking out for number one at ALL times. Given this unfortunate fact (as I see it), I have chosen to stop paying any attention to the lies that spew from the "men", and vote for the "party" that has traditionally and historically leaned the direction I agree with. I would like to point out that this is exactly what you describe as reasons to vote for "the man", just applied to the party instead. This to me seems much safer a vote since the party is much less likely to change their position on a whim. This is not "blind voting" by any stretch of the imagination.

Not a one of them understands that the Federal Deficit is OUR surplus (our savings). When they say they want to "balance the federal budget" they're saying they want to take our savings.

I used to be that way. And I'm historically republican.
To me, it didn't get much better than Reagan!

But..honestly Clinton did a great job.

Bush senior did a "so-so" job.
Bush junior...ugh, horrible job,.

I wasn't happy when Obama got in....but I wasn't happy about McCain 'n Palin..other than thinking about Palin in an "I'd hit it" manner. But she was dumber than my shoe lace.

As a long time republican, I have reservations of voting for Romney. I'd have less reservations if Ryan were running for POTUS instead of as VP. I think Ryan's going to be our next Dan Quail as he is now...LMAO.

But don't forget...as time goes on, it's important for our country to alternate parties at the helm. Having one party at the help forever results in too much slant in our gov't. We must frequently change parties at the help to help balance things out overall.

Ryan would be the Quayle of economics, for sure. Unfortunately, all of them seem to be set on dismantling Social Security and Medicare. Roosevelt understood that there was no problem funding those programs as long as it didn't contribute to "demand-pull" inflation (as opposed to "cost-push" inflation, like the Saudis raising the price of oil).

There's some (Peter Schiff, Martin Weiss) who think the Federal Deficit may be too big to ever fix. I don't think it matters if it's democrat or republican in office. They're responses are all gonna be the same. Just keep printing money.

I have found these forums a great place to express ideas and to get help on issues related to business owners of tech companies and their techs. Its always refreshing to come in and see what the latest chatter would be about and get some great ideas.

However, I think it is a bad idea to talk politics within the forums. When we start talking politics we are dividing, Taking sides, Arguing, and this does nothing but actually hurt the forums.

We should instead concentrate on helping one another instead of discussing such issues as politics. As the election grows nearer to completion I am afraid some are going to start fighting and then some divisions are going to take place. This helps no one and just weakens the forums as a whole.

I m sure there are political forums on the web that can be joined and the discussions can run wild there. I just feel that its not healthy for the forums and I want no part of it.

Let us work together to foster an atmosphere of respect and togetherness to achieve our goals together!

With best regards,

coffee:)

I think both candidates need to have a complete malware scan, a memory upgrade and check their hard drives for errors. A new processor may also help, withe a dust and dirt blowout. Just saying!!!

My opinion is that in a setting like this, politics only bring devision and breeds discord among TN members. Things can get heated as it is just talking about business and tech work, there is no reasons to fuel the fire with a topic that will neither benefit us as business owners or as technicians, especially considering that many of us here are not even from the USA.

I am not saying that it should not be allowed, but I am saying that it is not necessarily wise.

I think coffee is right. It just gets people pissy and disrestpectful and computer problems are plenty enough aggravation, frankly.

Personally, I'm all for the candidate with balls enough to finally lock down our border with Canada! Those people are just plain weird!

The only reason we haven't invaded Canada is because its just too damn cold up there. Pretty much the opposite reason why we haven't invaded Mexico.

That's my reasoning anyway......

With all the 100F+ days you have had there this year, and continued global warming, you will soon be pleading to share our cooler weather.

@angry_geek: just what are you talking about?

Okay, you're right about Mike Myers. You can also thank us for Jim Carrey, Leslie Nielson and John Candy. pc-quebec will no doubt have a word with you about Poutine being a Quebec culinary dish, so don't hang that on all of Canada.

Lol. I actually love the stuff; I just don't want to admit it. I was introduced to it in Goderich (sp?), Ontario.

Politics are not a big deal. Don't don't start a Mac vs. PC thread and things stay peaceful for the most part.:)
