Hi guys
This ones a personal issue; an issue that further pushes me to make the switch to ATi.
Just updated the 6200TC to a 8500GT. Installed drivers and whatnot (not the latest mind you; warnings posted all over the net about that one) Set it up to Dual-View. 15in LCD set to 1024x768 60Hz. 40in LCD set to 1080i 1024x768 60Hz in Dual-View(independent of each other). DVI - HDMI (TV) cable. At this point, I can't do Clone; during the preview it comes up with an error on my 15in stating that the signal is out of reach. So thats why I went the Dual-View route. No biggie; dont mind that .. kids can watch a movie while I do my work on the same machine..
So I've been trying for the last hour to find a certain option in the Nvidia Control Panel (I used to have it set up on my 6200TC) So that I could send full-screen applications (video and games etc) to my secondary monitor. I know I could drag WMP over to the secondary monitor and double click it. But what about the games ? They will always load in the primary monitor (15in) ? I know I could set the TV as the primary when I want to play a game .. but thats not the point, I shouldnt have to.
It seems like its missing the whole 'nView' Suite from when I was running my 6200TC. And the ability to choose which application runs on which monitor.
Ive been searching the nVidia forums. Seems like this is a major problem; and only with the 8's series.
Anyone else here run into this issue ? How did you get around it ?
Can anyone recommend any free multi-monitor applications that they've successfully used ?
I've heard of UltraMon before; but I'm sure its shareware.
Thanks guys !
