Help!

A client brought in a Gateway ZX6961 23 INCH All-In-One with what seems to be a disconnected hard drive inside from shipping (or something HDD related because it doesnt recognize it in bios or any other boot device)

(update)* it's a manufacture refurbished - outside of the 90 day warranty

I have serviced only 1 All-In-One before and it was a breeze to open but this one seems to be impossible.

This gateway has no visible screws, compartments, latches, etc.. i contacted gateway support and they basically said "we make these so you cant open them" so i need help finding out how to get into this beast.

After a little googling i come up empty handed.

If you know the secret please post! Ill be online searching all day.

thanks already for you guys- or gals- that are super pro

when i asked him he said it's been in the box form months and it's only covered for 90 days by Gateway (Refurbished)

So im still stuck trying to open it... He said the local big-box store turned him away because they do not service them- id love to win this client but when he called and said "All-in-One" i didnt think it was the impossible to open kind...

I know with similar models you have to lay it down on it's screen, then there are some screw covers on the back (similar to what laptops have on the front of their screen) that you need to pop off. Then you can remove the screws. Then push down on the back and slide it towards the bottom, it should then lift up on a hinge.

Edit: I have also seen some all in ones that have latches on the underside that have to be pushed towards each other to release the back.

Thanks for those links so far

That link you posted doesnt encourage me at all with the other techs having issues BUT it's a step in the right direction

I will go at it later today so everyone please keep posting!

Thanks a ton

I think at the end it talks about how that unit should be seperated and the OP was doing it wrong.
