I have had my business open now for a few weeks. I have not had one single call for service. I have an add in the paper that reaches about 15,000 customers. My hits on my site are low as well.

I live in Ohio in a very small town but I service different counties so the economics are all over the place.

1. Website look professional?
2. Logo professional?
3. Prices right or need tweaking?
4. Is the site easy to navigate?
5. Do you like the booking portion?

I feel like panicking to be honest. I have worked very hard on this business and nothing is moving and I really need the work.

Feel free to send me a PM or leave your message here. Any help regarding the site and getting customers will be helpful.

I think the website look s pretty good. Maybe try and do some research on what people are searching google for when it comes to computer repair. Some SEO on the website might do wonders for ya. Also, just one ad in the local newspaper wont do it. You need to get out there and promote the business.

I get almost all my work from my website... but i've also have spent hundreds of hours doing SEO work.

Thanks

That is my problem. I know little to nothing about SEO work. I have been listed but probably not very effectively. I don't have the money to hire an SEO expert at the moment. I guess it's time to learn to do so lol. Thank you very much for the website compliment and the advice.

I don't see your phone number on your site. Most people just pick up the phone to call for appointment/ask questions..

Also keep in mind the time of the year. In my area a lot of people are on holidays and either out camping or in some far off place. Due to this my service calls have dropped by over 75% this month.

Thank you.

I didn't even give that much thought. I'm not privy to the seasonal effects of business just yet. That gives me some comfort lol

Thank you

Placed the number on the front page. Can't believe I missed that lol

I personally like the site, it has a good lightweight feel to it, easy to get around, reasonable pricing. Are you running this alone? It states technician(s) a+. Are you out on the road doing any mobile marketing? The ad in the paper is not the only source of advertising I hope. Do you have a list of past clients you can follow up with, touch base on. Everything else seems to be in good shape. I'm sure most techs on here will agree referrals from other jobs complete are essential for steady work flow. Just my Opinion.
Good Luck!

This time of year is hard on all business that do not deal with tourism. However its also a time to be creative, research new ideas , new skills or improve them , etc etc .

Thank you for the compliment. Those are the things I was trying to achieve. I am running the website alone. I thankfully have a few good friends that are A+ certified who are willing to jump ship with their current employers as soon as this business takes off. In the meanwhile, they help me when I need them to. I have provided them with the uniforms and ID until that day comes.

I do have the car magnets, a computer transport module inside the vehicle, and two outer window business card holders with signage saying Take One Business Card.

Other than the local paper, I haven't been able to afford much else. My wife just got laid off and I have been laid off which is why I created this business.

I have placed a professionally printed poster at the busiest mini market in this town and have received no calls yet. I have also handed out very professional heavy stock business cards to about 15/20 people. I have had no real paying clients thus far. I will follow up with a couple of freebies that I provided though. I have color printed post cards to send as a "come back" with a discount. Thought those would be useful lol

New marketing idea I will be experimenting with soon:

"Get out of trouble FREE!" minicards. They will be mini business cards that will offer people 15 minutes of free face to face service. I'd give it a shot, as you wouldn't be soliciting (which a lot of businesses don't like) and it gets you in the door.

It's all a work in progress, a few weeks in business with a small client base seems about right for what conditions you're experiencing. It will take time to get moving forward. This (Technibble) is a fantastic place to get ideas and learn about everything, I'm sure you know this. Don't spend too much $$ on business cards and car magnets in the infancy of your company. Keep it simple but professional.

Google has some great tools to research keywords within ur zipcode/counties, etc ... Also, a few years ago I knew nothing about SEO and I wanted to hire a company to do it for me... but they wanted way too much money. I decided to use the free tools online and do the SEO myself. Its really not as hard as everyone says it is. It will, however take much of ur time... i've spent hundreds of hours on my website, and it was worth it! Couple years back I left for vacation witih my now EX g/f and I spent all my time trying to figure out SEO and it paid off. The only down side to this was my g/f left me. It was a choice I made, and... actually, it has paid off becuase my website makes me tons of money!

The site is good, except for the absence of the phone number in the header, where it should appear prominently. I'd also recommend a Prices page, with a single-line list of each service and its price, linked to the Services page where you describe them more fully. The prices and testimonial pages on my site are what most visitors head for most often.

Three weeks is way too early to expect business to be anything but a dribble. It'll snowball as you get more business and referrals (and testimonials). Good luck and hang in there!
