My office phone system uses Fibernetics NEWT. We have several polycom phone bases around the office and early on, I had a SIP extension on my cell phone. I never reinstalled the SIP client on my phones for several years when I thought it would be handy to have a portable extension around the office. The first time I set it up, the guys at Fibernetics were helpful with support. The last time I tried, a couple years ago, they said that they don't support it and then pushed me to try their new phone app with a monthly fee....tried it, it sucked and then cancelled it.
Enough of the rambling, the question is, has anyone else setup a SIP client on Android to connect with Fibernetics NEWT? I really don't need it, but it would be helpful and I'd love to be able to document it for the future. So, if you happen to have already invented the wheel and are willing to share, I'd appreciate it. I'll do my best to report my findings back here, if and when I figure it out.
