Since moving to a new location and expanding my offered services I figured it was time for an update. I am a big believer in keeping things easy, also my demographic is the elderly and very non-technological people. I am going for simple & beautiful. ;)

The updated website is here: http://nerdybuddy.com

Pingdom is pulling a 3.4 second load time, which is 84/100. I'm pretty happy with that. I've already integrated a lot of features that will reveal when our company is ready. I am perfecting our about page, favicon, and email list pop-up at the moment.

Just wanting to get some opinions before I start caching the site, and promoting with advertisements.

The first thing we get upon landing on the site is a pop up ?
This turned me off right away.

My very first impression (5 first seconds), I was actually wondering what the website was about, then I saw Digital sidekick, still wasnt sure, I had to scroll down to confirm this was a computer repair (and some more) website.
Those collection of graphics (pastel) don't

Your tagline, Hello I'm Nerdy Buddy, your Digital sidekick and internet handyman, to me (and i assume non knowledgeable users) doesn't say much.
Imagine google :)
So I think you're losing your first impression and your first area of content with non essential image and text.

The virus image you used in your services page is kinda childish, I would not use that.

Your H1's are not even keywords from what I saw.

Phone number is kinda hard to find, repeat it much larger in the content area.

The approach is friendly and personnal, wich is good for your target market.
The overall look is very nice and clean.

Hope it helps.

Agreed with the popup when you land. Very distracting and a turn off. Also the outline of the popup is undefined as far as I can see. Now maybe a popup when leaving the site is a thought. Have a no thanks button which closes the page.

When I hit the landing page, on my MBP 15" screen, those graphics beg to be clicked. Nothing there. There is nothing else to inform the potential customer nor is there any obvious hyperlinks other than at the top.

I just took a peak now and I think it works! I'm not a fan of pastel colors but you seem to have just the right mixture to make it work. You appear to be very helpful and friendly. I don't think you'd get many hits from businesses but that doesn't look like your target audience anyways. Well done!

All things considered, changes were implemented. We rid of the pop-up & too big / useless front image. We've placed the phone number in various locations in large print and changed ALL the Service page images to match the feel of the site.

All in all, thank you for your suggestions. I appreciate your honest critiques.

Well I wasn't able to see the pop up so this review can't comment on that, but the one thing that really stood out to me in a positive manner is the flat icons and the colors of the website. I think it makes interesting. Phone number on the top right in the menu is still too small in my opinion but you did supplement a bigger phone number on the home page which helps.

I would also say that the images used on services aren't childish because they flow with the theme of the website. It was simple enough to navigate.

Nice changes so far since yesterday.

Maybe a more computer related image backup (very dim) under Friendly computer repair line.

Don't forget to make your phone number clickable for mobile, link to tel:3617277600

What's the font you used for your H1 ?
Friendly computer & phone repair!

To address the website's colors, I am trying to mingle with the common folk. I live in a beach town. The colors on the website are quite literally the color of everyone's houses here.

Ahh, almost forgot. The font is Open Sans. With all the new changes, we're at a 1.07 second load time.
