I got a call from the "US corporate compliance office" today, the number they called from is 855-393-4306. I've never heard of these people. They said I need some special paper work that they need to mail to me. They asked for my address so they could mail them. Before I gave them my address I said, "Why do I need the paper work you want to send?" She replied, "Do you have employees?". I said no, and she said "You're all set then, and she hung up the phone.

I can't find any information on these people on the Internet. All I found was these two complaints about them:

Anybody else get a call from these people?

It's a place trying to sell you the signs you are required to post by law. You can get most of them for free from the right government agencies. Or a trip to Staples for about $5. These clowns make it sound like they ARE a Federal Agency and will bill you Hundreds of dollars for the same signs. They will just send the signs to you and then demand you pay. Of course the law says anything delivered to your door is yours to keep for free. If the shipper hasn't collected payment before they ship via the mail then they are out of luck.

Thanks for the heads up on that. I didn't even know I had to have certain signs up. But then again, I don't own a store or drop-off depot, I work out of my home so I'm not sure if I'm required to have any signs. Maybe I better find out

I know that the city and state require me to post my licenses in public view, but the city won't let people come here to drop off or pick up so what's the point of putting licenses in my window....

If you have employees then there are certain things you are required to post. OSHA information, the rights to minimum wage, etc. Your state may have requirements as well. Texas requires you to post information about what Workman Compensation Insurance you have and so on. If you don't have employees then none of that applies.

At one of my other jobs, they somehow got the name of our supervisor; when we told them she was busy and asked for a number, the person on the phone said "Oh you can't call us back." Who does business like that?

Noone does. .. it's a scam.

I get a company called "Air Duct Cleaning Service" calling me all the time that can't give me an address or a return phone number.

That's it exactly they call me every year.
