I'm a big fan of the Sandisk Cruzer. I have been using them for a few years. However, recently I upgraded my trusty 4Gb tech drive for an 8Gb. Not because I needed to but because I was at Staples and figged why not. My 4Gb still had 1Gb of free space but every once in a while it would be nice to have more room. You guys all know what I am talking about.
My 4Gb cruzer micro has been washed multiple times dropped in the driveway and ran over by my truck. It has been in countless accidents and still works great. It is the old classic design of the cruzer.
The 8Gb new cruzer is a completely new design. I am use to my old one but honestly the brand has proven itself so I don't care what it looks like. However, using this thing for the last week I have to say its the biggest pile of Sh*t thumb drive I have ever had. It locks just about every computer I plug it in to up until its detected. It takes sometimes 2 minutes to detect. Sometimes I have to pull it out and plug it back in in order to detect properly.
Both drives have had there U3 capability's striped because I am a Linux user and honestly its worthless to me. However, this has never been a problem with my older 4Gb drive.
I am curious what everyone else thinks and if anyone else has had the same experiences as I have. Maybe I just have a bad drive, if thats the case I will exchange it for another. Otherwise I think I am going to buy an 8GB cruzer titanium. Its still the old design and its chrome.
