New Remote Support tool.

Everything is subscription. I do so little remote that I'm glad I'm not paying for it every month. My service area is small enough that I can drive there by the time some of my clients get talked through a remote connection.

95% of my clients are closer than that and the rest, if they have internet at all it's satellite and too slow for remote. In fact our adsl is bordering on too slow for remote.

I run an older version of ScreenConnect on a local server, and my RMM has a corporate license of Teamviewer built-in. I've been upgrading to the new version every time, zero issues so far, and no additional bill on my end.

I use SC Unattended agents to get that quick-connect without having to walk someone through it on the phone. It's integrated into my PSA, so when they open a ticket all I have to do is click a button, and it generates a canned response with an SC connection built right in. A few moments later I'm connected (even with people that are seriously not tech oriented at all). I don't remember the last time I had to do a phone walk-through on getting remoted in.

My original SC license was under $400, and I'm grandfathered in (I get cheap updates to current versions, and I can add more users for the same original pricing, lucky me I guess). Now that they're owned by Connectwise, the price for your own server software skyrocketed, and they have high monthly pricing. Great product, but a much higher price now that they're owned by one of the big guys.

Don't get me started on LogmeIn...total money grab.

Whatever you go with be sure your able to have encrypted transmissions. Don't want your tail out in the wind :)
