New Logo - Early design stages

Hi Guys,

I am in the process of having a new logo designed. The current logo is based around an image provided by VistaPrint which seems to be used by quite a few other companies.

I was wanting your first impressions of the images provided.

I don't like 2 or 3.

I like the text on number 1, but I think the dots above the the i's will have to go. The laptop will also have to go, I think they have essentialy looked at my current logo and altered it.

What do you guys think?

That's a good point Mushin, I never thought about it like that. It could be because I live in Thirsk, so I don't read it like that. But that is somthing to consider. Do you think my current logo reads like that? The spacing in the text in my current logo is better i think which makes it easier to read.

I'm not a fan of the flames on #1. Otherwise I think it's the best.

Agreed, I don't like the flames either. I also think the laptop could be improved. I think I may also ask that they provide some with an alternative to the laptop.

Yep I see it the same way... but since I did not realize Thirsk is place my point may not be valid. Anyone is Thirsk and surrounding areas will probably not see it like me.

Well here are the latest revisions of the new logo.

Two and Three are my favourites so far. I have asked for the Laptop keyboard to refined as I think it could be better.

The font also looks a little bulky to me.

I am also now unsure of what to have on the laptop screen. Power button symbol, bio-hazard symbol, USB symbol or wireless symbol. I think alot of people use these in there logo's and I was hoping for somthing a little more unique, yet still relevant.

Any thought or suggestions welcome..

Can you somehow incorporate the initials T H I S into the logo?

I did initially consider that. I showed the idea to a few friends and they all said the same thing. Where is the 'T'.

I really don't fancy having T H I T S on my logo

Out of those choices, I like number 2.
