Hi Guys.

Im in the process of starting my own comapny.
The designer has just sent through a rough of my business card.
Take a look and let me know what you think.

Yes its still rough and the site is not up yet, but let me know what you think.

As a personal calling card it looks impressive, but as a business card it tells me nothing. You need to step outside the corporate mindset and design a card that's a selling tool for your business.

Aye I concur.
Remember 2 things, 1 this is a business card, and 2 I forgot to mention on the back of the card will be a list of services, the designer is still working on the back so as soon as i get it I will show you.

Unless you want calls from across the globe then yes.

Same place I put other cards that don't wish to keep.

Seriously, as a minimum you should give an idea of your geographical location/town, but customers will feel more reassured if you give a full address. Also a website URL is essential.

LOL I missed the URL and that was viewing it on a 19" screen! As I said above, you should design your card as a selling tool as much as a contact card, it doesn't really matter where you put the local details you chose to include as long as they're on there somewhere. I'd also lose the 'Director' tag, it sounds a bit pompous for a one-man operation and is a meaningless corporate label. You need the card to tell them what you do, not what you are.

I totally agree with the director comment.
I have already asked the designer to take it off.

Do you think I should put anything there or just leave it off?

You really need some kind of location on your card. Most people and businesses are looking for someone local.
BTW - the design and name are v. good, IMO.

Slick design, but more important than a slick design is useful information. Location and services provided are a must. Are you going after corporate clients or residential customers. If the latter, you may want to tone it down a bit. Overall good start though, you seme to have an eye for branding at that can be important later down the road.

I would definitely put the area. For me I didn't put my address because I work from home. I have my name, area, phone, email and website on my business card.

Once the card is printed business-card size, will the contact information still be large enough for us old guys to read? I put it into Irfanview and reduced it to about the right size and could no longer read it, but that may just be due to the reduction algorithms used.

I definitely like it. It is better than 90% of the computer repair business cards I see that tend toward the childish side. The suggestion to add your location i.e. Bristol England or such is good but realize it the actual design that is important and your designer has hit a home run for you! Congrats!

I will get the location put on and the services will be listed down the back of the card. That part is still being done.
