Another rant. When a system comes in by mail order and it has a bag of parts taped to the lid of the laptop it's probably not going to end well. I also like the ones where it's just a box of loose parts with a note that says, Please Fix This.

Is that one of those flimsy ribbon cables that are easy to break off ?. I could understand them breaking the "latch" or whatever keeps the cable in place but is that the whole cable ?.

I am gonna guess they broke the tabs that hold that in place as well.

In this case as it turns out they somehow miraculously did not destroy the connector. You are both correct though as they usually do at which point I go digging around in my junk boxes looking for a match to fix the @$# thing with. Surprisingly enough this system is actually fine they just had a bad adapter but I had to fillet the thing just to make sure they didn't break something in the process of 'fixing it'. This model fillets in about 5 minutes though(I've probably done 50 of this series).
