I have a client who has 3 computers and a VOIP system witch run through their cable provider. Their internet frequently goes down several times a week due to problems with the cable provider in that area. There are no other alternatives to internet. So he was wanting to use a Verizon 4G wireless hotspot as a backup for when the internet goes down to obviously provide internet to the computers and for the VoIP system.

I can easily add wireless cards to the three desktops and connect the 4G hotspot to the computers, also setting the wired NIC card as the primary one to use to avoid large amounts of data usage on the 4G hotspot when the internet comes back on. My question is how do i connect the VoIP wired system to this and allow it to switch from cable internet to 4G without them switching cat5 cables around or changing settings on the computer whenever the internet goes in and out.

A Verizon rep recommended a Cradlepoint MBR1400 when we were trying to accomplish utilizing 4G as the only way to operate one of our locations.

also, pickup an ambery IP-p2, helps keep that thing running right. It will auto power cycle if the internet cuts out.
