Need a good bluetooth headset.

Hi everyone I am looking for a good bluetooth headset for my cell since I have been noticing that without one I'm juggling my phone in one hand while trying to do something with the other that requires 2 hands.

Any specific one you would recommend would be great. Figured I would ask you guys and gals since you're the ones that would have experience with them out in the field on service calls.

Biggest thing I want is good sound quality and the ability for my voice to be heard on the other end. I hear some headsets give you good call quality in terms of you being able to hear them but they can't hear you very well.

I use jawbone headsets... no complaints... and the last ticket for distracted driving reminded me that they are cheap =)

Oh those look nice and they got lots of good reviews. Here in California the first ticket is 79 and then 190 if you get caught again. I don't worry about that since if it's really important they will leave a message. Legally here we can use bluetooth but I would rather not.

I don't pick up the phone when driving and if its really important they can leave a message. I will just be needing it for when I'm out in the field troubleshooting and don't want to juggle the phone and something else in my hand.

In my case it was a hard drive I had on the passenger seat.

I braked and it slid forward.

I caught it.

The cop pulled me over.

"You were using a cell phone."

"No I wasn't, it's a hard drive."

"It's still an electronic device in your hand, while you are driving."

"****, I see, you have a goddamn quota to meet and I'm your mark, gotcha."

$130 later.

I use the blue parrot. It works great with great battery life. I have had a lot with being in the tractor and it out performs all others. The only thing is the looks. My wife teases me "welcome to McDonalds", but I don't care cause it works so good.

I have this one, Plantronic Voyager Pro, and wow do I beat the **** out of it. Bought well over 2 years ago, it broke within warranty and they sent me a refurb to replace it, that was at least a year ago if not longer. It's now getting ugly looking, but for a girl who lives on her phone and won't talk on a phone...I highly recommend it.

As for sound, it's awesome. No one asks me if I am on bluetooth either. You must keep it charged for best reception. When it is low on battery, it crackles to the other person on the phone.

Since I hate bluetooth things stuck stuck in my ear all the time, and dislike even more fumbling to get them out of my pocket when I do want to use them, I've been using these for the past couple years:

Call sound quality is great on both ends, use one ear or both (depending on how noisy YOUR surroundings are), battery lasts a long time. Tucks away right under the collar of my polo until needed.

@Deetech Yea I thought the same thing when I saw set. But hey if it works it works.

@callthatgirl That's a fancy head set, I was working at a big upscale wealth management firm once and I saw every single person their with that set. But from the looks of it they where also on the phone a lot so quality for them was definitely important.

@mraikes I've seen those around quite a bit, I wasn't considering them at first but they do look good and the reviews are good.

@OhioTech Oh an even fancier head set.

All these look good I'll check them out, only issue I see is that I might start making unnecessary calls just so I can use it.

Although I like the Blue Parrot, I ended up going with the latest Blue Eagle, which is very similar in design. I kept running into issues with the BP connecting to certain phones, battery life, and the weight of it was starting to bother me. The thing I like most about my BE is the battery lasts forever. Sometimes, I only charge it once every two weeks, and trust me, I'm constantly on it. Also, it's only about half the weight of the BP.

As Deetech said regarding his wife teasing him, my family does the same thing, only they ask me when I went to work as an AT&T operator lol.

I purchased this one too and found it to be great. Reall does make it easier they trying to hold a phone for a long time

That sucks Lisa. Yours is different than mine. I don't use the charging base - just plug it in the charging cord directly. I use the silicon holder on the ear bud so pulling it off and then placing it in the base was a PIA.

I thought about a headset for the car. I was pretty tired of the phone going off and missing calls and having to juggle the cell phone in the car. Probably one of the best investments I made was a stereo headset for my car with bluetooth capabilities. When Iam in the car listening to the radio if I get a call it mutes the stereo and the sound from my cell phone automatically takes over thru the cars speaker system. Now I do not have to wear a head set or anything. I also have built in phone book and speed buttons for calling people. The quality is good too. A lot of customers think I am sitting in the shop.

Although this is a bit pricey its a wonderful way to get cell phone service in your car. When I go from the shop to the car my cell phone automatically connects to the radio when I get in and the only thing I plug in is an under seat power adaptor to my cell phone. I mounted the microphone on the steering wheel in the middle.
