Need a good and proven registry repair tool

I have a customer with some locked registry keys that the administrator can't remove or edit. Does anyone know of some proven utilities that can fix it. I'm not looking for just any reg cleaner. Only ones that you have used for this kind of issue and has worked well for you.

I have run a few of them. I'll try some others. Still would like a good reg repair tool.

There really aren't any registry repair tools per say. I have yet to find a program that can fix a "broken registry." What you want is a tool to remove restrictions set in the registry. There are many programs that can do this. Check out Dial-A-Fix and Glary Utilites both are able to remove restrictions that malware has set.

Have you right clicked on the problematic key and gave yourself permission to delete?

I've that once a problem similar, very light virus/spyware and I was able to repair control by assigning rights to my account.

If you can set yourself up to run the subinacl commands with system privileges, you probably won't have any problem at all getting them to recurs through the registry, but you might not have any issue anyhow.

I added that to my TeViCS script when I was cleaning up a Virut infection(before I realized it was a virut infection) because the keys for the windows update and firewall services were messed up and locked.

UBCD4Win has a tool called Remote Registry, or something like that. I've never used it before, but it might be what you're looking for.
