Hello All,

I'm looking for a 64 bit VPN client that supports Windows 7, I am testing NCP VPN right now, we like it, but it's rather expensive (our "cost" is 210$ per computer).

Does any one know of a less expensive VPN solution for Windows 7/64 Bit?

Many Thanks - Darion

I'm going to answer my own question! ;)

I've just discovered a FREE alternative that works.

It's from Shrew Net Inc, Unfortunately I can't post the URL on this forum due to a newbie POST restriction with TechNibble.?

Shrew Soft inc. , the 64 Bit VPN just came out of Beta and supports all flavours of Windows, including Windows 7/64 Bit!

Tested and seems rock stable, a nice alternative to NCP.

I used the built in import function and utilised my existing cisco .pcf file so migrating from NCP was seamless.

Cheers - Darren

PPTP was just not an option, not secure enough for my clients needs, and no support for encryption..not to mention full of security holes.

Correct, the built-in Mickeysoft VPN stuff has always been chronic, only good enough for sheople ticking off features in a list I suppose

Well done with finding Shrew (and thanks for giving me the heads up,
I've been waiting on their updated version): it took me 4 years before I bothered to go and find them: Cisco can be very addictive :o
