Thanks for the feedback folks! This site was built on a weekend back in January when I taught myself how to do the coding with Kompozer and some online tutorials.
One of the issues that I face is the fact that probably between a quarter and a third of the people in my service area are operating on dial-up. Hence, I haven't wanted to create content that would be painfully slow for those customers to load. My store is located in a town with a population of maybe 600 people, and the district I teach in covers 600 square miles, with only about 250 kids in the high school (grades 9 - 12). As you can see, I'm in an extremely rural part of the state of Maine, which is why so many people are still on dial-up connections. For many of my customers (especially the senior citizens) I find that a simple clean site is easier for them to utilize.
Having said that, there were still some great ideas. I like the suggestion of putting my phone number on the home page. In fact, I'll probably see about putting it on the header, and that way it's on every page.
The pictures were only supposed to be temporary. Unfortunately, time and other things got in the way of getting some good pictures. This is a good reminder that I need to fix that! Thanks!
The Nuke and Pave is actually going away. We implemented that a few months back because we were spending way to much time on scans, and limited bench space made it difficult to get machines through the shop. Plus, for many of our customers they only use the machine for online browsing and did not have data that needed to be saved. However, after reading various things in these forums, I think we can improve our process on virus removal and offer it for a much lower flat fee. That's one of the things I have found helpful since I joined here a couple weeks ago - thanks to everyone who posts about their methods of malware removal!
So - again thanks to everyone for their thoughts. I would certainly welcome more ideas if anyone wants to pass them my way, and I'll see what I can implement.
