already working in a new layout, i really appreciate honest feedback guys! thanks. i believe thats the key for success!

there was quite a controversy about a small .png file so I want to apologize for copying and using images that did not belong to me but to www.computerrepairservicesusa.com. I want to say I am deeply sorry for this. I know I was wrong and I will not do it again. gonna design my own content from now on, BUT as i said, i used it just as a template to show to you guys my progress...now i know why they said to never show a work in progress xD anyways...again sorry about any inconveninences!!

Expert Online Virus Removal Service and So Much More

ALTEC Computer has been repairing computers for a long while now.

repetition of the same statement a few sentences ago

We have repaired hundreds of computers over time and our testimonials speak for themselves. We understand how frustrating a computer repair job can be and we strive to make your computer repair with us easy and affordable. There are many choices out there when it comes to computer repair but we offer such great service and prices that it's a no brainer for most.

by now your reader has fallen asleep. Count how many times you have used the term 'we', compared to the term 'you'.

To be honest most computer repair issues we come across are not that hard for us to repair. The reason for this is because we probably have already resolved the exact same issue with someone else. Security Tool and Cyber Security are two of the threats we are seeing a lot of in the Month of November.

Reader is now comatose. There's a whole front page there to grab the customer's attention and compel them to contact you. This information is drivel (no offense intended). This section should be bright, eye catching and selling your services. Short and simple.

The best part about you using our computer repair service is we can get started right now! You don't have to wait a few days for a tech to come out or wait a week and drive all over town to have your computer repaired by a shop. If you are ready to get started then Create an Account Here

That may scare people off. Would you want to 'create an account' with someone just to get your computer repaired?

or start chatting above. If you prefer we can even call you direct. Click here to be called

Affordable Online Computer Repair with a NO Fix NO Fee policy

Text box on left - Data backup - you need to reinforce your point. Just stating that people lose data is not selling the service you're offering. Add a rejoinder to the end of the section..

All the other pages seem to produce 404 errors

You said this:
i would like some honest opinion about my website

So if you did not want text and pictures taken into consideration then you should of said that....As far as "borrowing" well I am sure that is not a problem because I assume you asked Geeks Mobile if you could borrow it right?

Maybe you need to regroup and work on your own text, pictures, domain name, hosting and then come back for an opinion.

No problem at all. I will help anyone and always have...BUT, you didn't ask for permission.... I know the owner.

:eek::eek::eek:

ANYWAY... here's a tip I learned along the way...this is a great site to see how your website looks in other browsers...your site looks good on my widescreen IE 8. Go to this site and plug in your address and you'll get samples of how it looks in other browsers: http://browsershots.org/
You can only do it once a day for free I believe.

There's almost nothing there to judge, it kind of looks bland and boring. I never like sites with stock photos, either.

So....if you don't want pictures and text opinions....what else is left? The layout? Ok. Boring.

I think most people will be happy to look at and critique your website. The community here is full of helpful people, but just as a matter of appreciation for members' time and effort, I think the fair thing to do is to wait until you have the site just about ready to go.

If you are putting up a draft that you have no intention of using, it's a bit of a fools-errand for everyone involved.

Just something to consider for next time. Please post your site, but one you intend to actually use.

Regarding content, plagiarism can be avoided with sufficient rewording of the text you plan to use. This indicates you have used 'ideas' or 'structure' from original copy, and there's no issue there. Copy and paste is a strict no-no, and is something that as a matter of professional respect should be avoided. I don't think anyone's going to sue you for using their content, but as a matter of courtesy a significant effort to use your own wording is the right approach.

When you think about it, everything on the Web is fundamentally derivative. There is an important distinction between derivation and outright theft of ideas and work.

Please think about how you would feel if you spent months developing a site and someone came along and just lifted the content for their own purposes.

Its something that happens too frequently, as a number of threads here can attest to. Consider having a look at some of the testimonials about the annoyance this has caused.

If you put yourself in another's shoes Im sure you can see how distressing this would be.

On a different tack, if you want a quick, easy way to set up a website without having to write HTML, I strongly recommend Wordpress

Ive just redone mine after several complete rebuilds using html, and the process was easier, quicker, and a better result. Its still a work in progress, but the fundamentals were a breeze and site maintenance (adding, changing content) is incredibly easy.

There are lots of free themes available, and pro themes cost next to nothing - $20 and $40 - with much of the layout already done. Plugins make video and image embedding, fresh content, social networking, security, backing up, SEO, mobile device detection and translation, and lots of otherwise time-consuming tasks a breeze.

Have a squizz here if you're interested in seeing some of the possibilities
