My Website

Great website. I love the images and the video on home page.

I would suggest to add your phone number and address to all pages, I could not find it anywhere but the contact page!!

Oh, I guess its easy to bypass if you just know the exact url to the remote support tool?

On our new site www.saltisdata.se I have put a "remote support" link (the big A) to the left on the page. Im thinking about doing something similiar as you. Did you download some php password script?

It goes through to another page with access to the tools.. which they select their operating system..

See attached pic.

I built the website using WYSIWYGbuilder..

its so easy to use.. and comes with these scripts in the password pages.. plus loads more.

Looks good...

I am interested in some more info.

You have a Linux, Mac and Windows ICON. So you can provide remote support for all those OS? What remote software are you using?

I am looking for something where I can remote control both PC:s and Mac:s with just a click. Client shouldn't have to set anything up, just click an exe (like ammyyy admin)

hey,

Yeh customers use a quick file, that doesnt install, just displays an ID and password to give to you.

Whereas you install an app to manage the connections..

Yeh it can get expensive, but it really is the best.

There is also one called Kaseya

http://free.kaseya.net/Account/LogOn?ReturnUrl=/

they have a free version which has a lot of features disabled, but it still lets you access and control the desktop, and it resides on the customers machine, always on.. ready for you to take control.

good for support contracts.

I wanted to use teamviewer, but i must be wrong in thinking that it has to be installed on the other persons machine in order for it to work correct?

Or is there a site that they can go to in order to download something simple so i can take control...

You could direct them to teamviewer, where there is a file they can run, without installing it, it then just displays the ID and password they would give you..

You could always link to the page from your site..

Not sure linking to the exe is allowed.. but you could link to the product site.

Partway down the page there is the Quick Support version. It's still of the free-for-consumer-use variety, of course. For their paying customers, and on the same page, the branded Quick Support version is better suited.

I did remote support for four years to a 20,000 pc wan domain, and whilst you can do some things easily, such as user training and some diagnostics, for oh about 60% of diagnostics it's not so straight forward. Something that might take 2 minutes onsite might take 10 minutes remotely and so on.

Also are you sure you want to state you're a low cost business? Read the many posts advising against advertising yourself as a low cost service.

The same goes for stating no fix no fee. What about when you spend your precious time to determine a fault and the client decides they don't want to pay for a new hard drive even though the old one is corrupted beyond repair, or whatever other scenario you can imagine? Can't you see the client might then use your get out clause no fix no fee since it's clearly on your site?

Also are you sure a pc check really fixes 99% of problems? That number seems, from a purely marketing pov, to be a little bit of an overstatement :-)

Hi Tony

Thanks for your valued comments, will look into the use of certain phrases more.. and will adjust the text!

Just to add with regards to making sure I'm not just used as a free diagnostic service:

There is plenty of dialogue on the telephone before a health check is even suggested.. so I wouldn't get myself into that sort of pickle..
The (my) Health Check is designed for computers that can access their desktop.
