Don't think it will speed up loading your site but it might be worth validating your HTML as there are a few errors.

check it out Here.

Andy,
I wouldn't be so quick to blame your hosting company. Your page didn't load "like molasses" for me, but it did take a bit longer than it should.

I dug down into your html, and found the references to your blue sky gradient background and the upper block of blue streaked background. Are you aware that the background alone is 205 kilobytes in size and the streaked block is 590 kilobytes? Think about it...you're forcing the viewers of your website to download about 795 kilobytes, or 3/4 of a megabyte, just to see your page! Even on a fast connection, this is going to take a few seconds. A dialup doing 5 kilobytes per second? 159 seconds or 2.65 minutes!

You need to calm down, stop blaming your hosting company (although they obviously didn't bother to look at your code), and optimize your graphics files.

It was slow to load for me also. I guess they cheaped out on the server/bandwidth. Also , i wouldn't be happy to still display their advertising at the bottom of my page if i had paid them for the year. Seems like a bit of a cowboy operation unfortunately. I'd move hosts after the year is up.

Just remember you are going to be sharing that "30 gig" with about 30 million other people..;)

I am impressed. I wasn't aware of any of that!

Then why in god's name can a Website such as CNN load super quick when they have all kinds of stuff going on such as multiple pictures, fancy flash ads, and videos?

How can I optimize my images? Are you saying they need to be compressed? (which would degrade the quality I am guessing)

On my end, loading CNN takes as much time as loading your site when visiting the first time. There are multiple things going on on CNN, but the images are rather small in size. I saved the CNN webpage as well as yours and compared the size. CNN = 1199KB. Yours = 1133KB. In contrast, Technibble.com homepage is 394KB.

I agree with e2346437 - make the background images smaller in size. You really won't lose much quality visually. The quality would be seen when zooming or printing the image, but for a website background I think you'll not see any difference.

Its the graphics.
The Natural_Sky_Gradient.jpg is 205kb
img-wallpapers-blue-wallpaper-juliomino-9957.jpg is 592kb.

The server itself responds in a reasonable amount of time, it really just appears to be these two graphics. They are WAY too big for web graphics. I suspect they were originally wallpapers.
