I've been in the business, half-heartedly for the last 6 [actual DBA and attendant accounts/taxes] years and have recently decided to move away from my current job and more towards my IT business.
As a part of this process I'm going to be re-branding, from ShorelineSupport to MacWinFIX. My small client list likely wont care about a new name and tax id [only about 15 people/companies/NPOs].
As part of the re-branding, I will implement a new DBA, new bank accounts, likely an LLC, a new CRM, new website, reseller status, an actuakl accountant, and new insurance.
For most of us the IT part is easy, it's the backend, the business that's a pain. So basically I am starting over and this time out, going to do it right.
Starting this process is a new logo and theme. The logo is just a clear vinyl static cling designed by me and printed by a local printer, the total size is about 33"x32". Each door piece is 33"x15".
Both sides of the car cost $55 [total], so one call will more than pay for them. There are 2 logos one with the cross on the left, the other with it on the right -so that the logo is always "forward". There is a smaller logo on the back of the vehicle and a mirror image in the hood, so you can read it in the rear view mirror.
So far they stick well for both city and highway driving. We'll see what happens on the highway in heavy rain...For a $50 test, I don't care much if I lose them, but I doubt I will.
...On a whim, I took one of my Acer netbooks that I use for on-site service and taped it off and shot it with Krylon plastic paint. The taping/painting took about 45 minutes. The logo is the same vinyl cling as the car
I sort of have my own "uniform" which is a untucked button-up and dark blue jeans, and nice shoes [black or brown]. Very business casual -not an issue with my current client list and my service area. I am considering doing iron-ons and/or embroidery on a few of my shirts. The cost of an iron transfer is very inexpensive and a nice button-up from TJMaxx/Marshall's is under $15.
All of this would not be happening if it weren't for all the information posted here on Technibble! So a big thanks to all of you here!
