Anyone else notice that for the last 2 days MSE has not been available for download?

Just downloaded and installed a few min. ago. At first, I had the same problem, then I discovered the time & date were off! Worked ok after that. Hope this helps...

Tried it on my desktop, time and date correct. Failed to download. Maybe they are updating their servers and they are fail-over or round robin so some are up and others down.

Just to clarify, I'm referring to not being able to download the installer from microsoft. Yes, no problem updating the definitions. Just find it odd, I've been using the link posted above as well as a work around.

I use Ketarin to keep all my standard software up-to-date and I ran it this morning.

Was surprised to see that a new version of MSE was downloaded. Apparently MSE Release 4.2.223 was made available at around 4am (EST) this morning. Previous version was 4.1.522.

Maybe MS stopped updates as part of the release process?

Seems that you can now download it but when you run it the extract fails and says its corrupt.

What the heck are they doing ? Either MS doesnt want you to download it but won't admit it or they have idiots in charge of the MSSE server. Everything else seems to be able to download.

I downloaded it this morning and it installed ok

version engine 1.1.9203.0

I just downloaded it three times. Once on a new install machine via the main page that shows the lady laying on the floor with her laptop and then once from the other download page, both failed to extract.

On an existing machine I just downloaded it from the main page and same issue.

This was for windows 7 64 bit and a vista 64, so maybe thats a factor ?
What O/S did you download for, I know they have the x86 and amd64 versions, or whatever they call them.

Xp...................................

Ok, yes, I just tried download and execute on a XP machine and that worked. So I think its the 64 bit version. Maybe someone else can try or perhaps they will just fix it later this morning.
