I have started researching and thought I would ask you guys for some pointers. Have any of you had success moving and making larger a windows 7 boot camp to another mac?

I have not setup Bootcamp for a long time I remember it asked how big I wanted to make partition but once it's done it's done

You could use a Mac partition resizer just like Windows

What is the purpose of having bootcamp for this customer? Unless they need direct access to the underlying hardware layer it's far less efficient than using a VM.

good question, it is just for a single progam, not sure what it is, but he said he does lots of data processing with it. I may have to speak to him about using a vm. We would still have to transfer and resize his bootcamp install to a vm.

I've not personally done an import from a BC partition. But once you have a VM you can resize a partition as needed with a few mouse clicks. Just did it the other day for a couple of customers that are running Parallels. Windoze has that nasty habit of keeping everything single thing it downloads for updates in the Winsxs folder. Their C drive is 60gb and windsxs was something like 40gb! So as long as it's running you can use an external drive as a landing spot for the .vmdk.

What program? Unless it involves some specialized hardware it's almost guaranteed to work inside a VM. Links below for Parallels and Fusion.
