More confusing windows 10 news for free upgraders.

If I am reading this article right, they are saying that microsoft has determined the supported lifetime of the device to be between 2-4 years before users will have to end up paying for it. And of course it doesn't explain what happens if you don't pay for it which I like what the writer says about it

"Yes it’s mad. Microsoft is releasing arguably the most important version of Windows in its history this month and we don’t know how long it will be supported or what future costs we will be charged after this unknown period. Instead Microsoft simply keeps shouting:

“It’s Free! It’s Free! It’s Free!*”

(*for the lifetime of the device – and we won’t define ‘lifetime’ or what happens after that)"


So it sounds like the free upgrade is nothing but a delayed two year con-job where microsoft ends up making there money back.

Most users could quickly/easily make the jump to one of the Linux flavors, they just don't know that some are as easy to use as Windows XP/Win7...
