My store is 99% service based so it usually doesnt involve tax and most customers pay with credit
Right now i keep a about 10 singles, 4 5s 2 10s and a single 20 in the register
If i have more i take it home and store it in my safe, and i bring back the missing bills to make sure i have the same amount
Obviously this is not the best option and it only works for me as the owner, but if i dont go in to the store my assistants need to be able to have the right amount of cash and not have too much either
How do many of your operate this part of the business??
