Microsoft Office installation files

Got a laptop in for a nuke & pave (at client's request I might add) but I need to save a file first. He used an employee offer at the company he works for to get Microsoft Office Professional Plus 2010 at a fantastic discount, but he chose it as a download rather than DVD, and they only get the one chance to download it so he needs me to save the file before I do the N&P.

My problem is that the file is not in the Downloads folder, not in the Documents folder, not on the desktop, not in the root of C:, nor anywhere else that I've looked and he can't remember where he put it. Does anyone happen to know the actual filename so that I can do a search for it? (Win 7 Home Premium machine by the way)

and in case that he doesn't have the license key anymore : D7 backs up product licenses keys , it might worth trying it. Once you have the license key, download the MO product-install-activate ?!

Treesize or the like should be able to find any large files for you. But then so should WIN-F and *.ISO.

<rant> It's amazing that the search function in Windows has gotten worse since the days of XP (well actually 2000/98 since XP was only good if you dismissed the stupid dog and reverted to the older way).

In Win7 size is still hidden somewhere but now you can only select things like 'gigantic >128MB' which is not much good if I know the file I'm looking for is 550-600MB for instance. </rant>

The download is probably an executable that extracts the installer instead of an ISO image.

We use Home Use Program as part of our Software Assurance, however I do know when I got my 2010 version that the key was only accepted by the Office files downloaded by the link I got with the email that gave me my key.

I recall trying it with the Digital River files I have and kept getting Invalid key error so had to dig out the download link even though it points to Digital River.

The 2013 version now has key built in when you buy it under Home Use

Edit : Dug out my email , the files are downloaded as EXE as pointed out earlier link I got sent is : Download Link

Great info, thanks very much my friend - and all other contributors too, of course.
