Does anyone have the technician version of MBAM? What is the benefits of purchasing the technician license compared to just the normal license? I have emailed them and they currently have not responded.

Edit: Also for the people running the corporate license. What additional command line parameters are there?

The technician license gives you the right to install it on unlimited computers as long as you remove it when you are finished. So you can only run it on one computer at a time. The corporate license doesn't have anything extra, you just need to renew the license evey year.

Note: Corporate users please contact corporate@malwarebytes.org for additional command line parameters.

This was located in the help file. Along with the current list of command line parameters.

mbam.exe /parameter
(where parameter is one or more of the following)

/debug: allows you to collect information to send as a bug report. Prompt to save appears.
/debugsave: allows you to collect information to send as a bug report. Automatically saves to <root-drive>\mbam-info.txt.
/developer: this command line parameter is explained in the false positives section.
/minimized: allows you to start the program minimized.
/quickscan: allows you to run a quick scan.
/quickscanterminate: allows you to run a quick scan. Program terminates if no items found.
/fullscan: allows you to run a full scan.
/fullscanterminate: allows you to run a full scan. Program terminates if no items found.
/runupdate: allows you to update the program without displaying result dialogs.
/register: allows you to register the program without displaying main dialog.

Example: mbam.exe /register 12345 AAAA-BBBB-CCCC-DDDD

/updateshowdialog: allows you to update the program displaying all dialogs.
/schedule <hour>: allows you to schedule an update and scan for a specific hour. Scan will happen 5 minutes after update.

Example: mbam.exe /schedule 0 (will schedule for 12:00 AM local time)
Example: mbam.exe /schedule 5 (will schedule for 5:00 AM local time)
Example: mbam.exe /schedule 23 (will schedule for 11:00 PM local time)

/proxy <server>:<port>: allows you to update through a HTTP or HTTPS proxy. Any future updates will use the specified proxy server and port. Leave blank to remove proxy usage. No authentication support yet.

Example: mbam.exe /proxy (will disable any proxy use)
Example: mbam.exe /proxy http://www.proxy.com:80 (will use www.proxy.com on port 80)

/logtofolder <path>: allows you to save all log files to the specified folder. If this folder does not exist, Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware attempts to create it. If path is blank, changes are reverted to default settings. These logs do not show up on the Logs tab.

Example: mbam.exe /logtofolder C:\Logs (will save all log files to C:\Logs)

/logtofile <path>: allows you to save all log files to the specified file. If this file does not exist, Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware attempts to create it. Newest entries are appended to top of file. If path is blank, changes are reverted to default settings. This log does not show up on the Logs tab.

Example: mbam.exe /logtofile C:\mbam-log.txt (will save all log files to C:\mbam-log.txt)

Does anyone have this license?
Is there anything to be gained?

I have a license. It allows you access to a technician only forum with advanced help. Most importantly - the use of MBAM by a technician to clean customers infected computers is against the EULA unless you either have the technician license or you purchase a separate copy of MBAM pro for EVERY computer you repair.

Hmm, the guy who emailed me led me to believe that there weren't any additional command lines. I am going to send them an email and report back.

Crap, I just bought SuperAtiSpyware...
But it seems if I use previx I almost don't need anything else, its very good.

We use the tech version with Kaseya. Simply write a Kaseya script using the CLI of Malwarebytes.

On schedule, Kaseya installs, updates, executes and removes malwarebytes and then Kaseya will parse the logs for events (failures, cleans, etc.) Using this data I can create a nice report for the client.

Without the tech version, we don't have access to all of the CLI switches we need.

Waiting for responses from corporate@malwarebytes is like waiting on molasses. It took 3 weeks to get a purchase link, once purchased, its taken 5 days so far (and still counting) just to get a list of the command line options available for the technician license.

Great product but the people handling corporate sales need some help.

I was going to email to get pricing, but since it apparently takes forever, anyone in the US want to share the cost of the tech license?

I find MBAM gets a lot more registry keys and restrictions, whereas SUPERantispyware goes for the major things. It also is much quicker when scanning and updating.

great program

Thanks for putting up the price for the tech license, i've been waiting for over a week on an email to them to find out. I've gotta say, i love malwarebytes, it works really well, especially on the recent outbreak or rogue antivirus apps out there.

Sorry for the month bump on this thread.. it's worth it though. So I just started using Malwarebytes, but I wasn't going to go out and buy the technician version without first experimenting with it to make sure it works for my needs, and that it's actually as good as everyone says it is (and not just hype).

Okay, I'll get to my point now. The other day I was using it to scan a customer's PC and after it was done, I actually laughed out loud when I opened the results list.
