MacBook Air 13" Early 2015 no drive recognized

Been working on a Early 2015 13" MacBook Air. I believe that the built in drive controller has failed.

• transplanted SSD works in 2017 MacBook Air
• system boots fine from USB drive
• No internal drives detected when booted from USB drive
• new 3rd party SSD not recognized
• new 3rd party SSD works fine in 2017 MacBook Air
• PRAM reset doesn't help
• SMC reset doesn't help

Looks like a new logic board is the only solution. Agree or is there another thing I haven't tried?

Sounds like you've done due diligence. So it sounds like the logic board. I recently used Louis Rossman's on my MBP Retina. The price was reasonable. Doesn't hurt to give them a jingle.

Any thought as to what they might charge to repair or replace the logic board on this machine? $150? $400? Ballpark?
