OK let me give you guys a little info that I know you are all going to ask for.

OS: Windows Vista 32 bit (not sure if you need this but just in case)

Running Programs: 37 at start up (when I am doing stuff it usually doesn't go higher then 43)

Security Program: Webroot Desktop Firewall, Webroot Anti-Spywayre w/ anti-virus

Memory: 2GB

OK I think that will cover some of the basic questions you all will ask. A window keeps popping up asking me to close Webroot Desktop Firewall and while it is indeed a huge memory hog I have never had any issue's with having low memory.

I have not installed anything new that would be running that wasn't before in fact I have been running the same program for months now, years even and never had an issue till now. What would cause this now?

I bring up the task manager and it is telling me I am using 89% of my physical memory I open up the Resource Monitor and look at the programs running and the memory they are using and no red flags jump out so I am lost on what to do or what the problem could be.

I don't know if a virus or anything could cause this, but my anti-virus ran this morning and came back with nothing.

My subscription is up in a few weeks so trust me I am getting rid of it!

I am actually going to go with Avast after it was recommend to me by a friend.

The fact that task manager is showing 89% of your memory being used is a little deceiving. Vista always uses all of you memory for SuperFetch. SuperFetch attempts to predict what you are going to do next and preloads it into memory to make things faster. It is supposed to free up that memory if it is needed. The key being "supposed to." I too get the error you're describing occassionally. I have 3G of RAM and get the error when I know I'm no where near that limit. I have always ignored the error as I don't get it often and I haven't had a problem. It makes me wonder about the SuperFetch function though. It might be worth turning SuperFetch off to see if that resolves your problem.

Keep in mind, if you turn SuperFetch off your computer will seem a little slower. When you turn it back on it will still run slower until Vista learns your habits again.

It is certainly likely that the Webroot software is causing the memory problems. Get rid of it. The only thing worse then not using an AV when you need one is too to have one and think your protected.

OK well I since have gotten rid of all my Webroot software and installed Avast.

I am just trying to decide if I should keep Ad-Aware and install Malware Bytes or just keep Ad-Aware. Or maybe get rid of both? I tried searching the forums for answers, but I couldn't find anything.

Very newbie question here, but what about Anti-spyware will Malware Bytes and/or Ad-Aware cover this?

If i were you i would get rid of ad-aware and have superantispyware, malwarebytes and avast installed on your pc. they are all freeware, and they do the job with no problems.

Ditto.

Don't Antispyware and malwarebytes do the same thing?

No, they don't do the same thing... They serve the same purpose but they don't do the same thing. Both MalwareBytes and SuperAntiSpyware remove malware but they both find and remove different items. Doubling up won't hurt a bit.
