I am finding is that a lot of USB 3 SATA Docks have various issues to include:
USB 3 mounting and dismounting
USB 3 speeds dropping down to USB 2
USB 3 not working unless you update firmware
USB 3 not working unless you install drivers one each computer
Hard drives/dock resetting when you plug in and unplug a hard drive into a dual SATA dock (Happens on my Calvary Duplicator as well as many others)
Unable to unmount single drive in dual dock when two drivers are being used and instead you have to unmount both drives at the same time (not sure if there is a dual bay that does not do this)
SATA dock not working in Windows 8 without firmware update
SATA dock not working in Windows 8 without installing drivers each time
SATA dock works when it wants to in Windows 8
And other intermittent or random issues.
So basically, I am looking for a Single and Dual SATA Dock that plays well with USB 3 (and utilizes USB 3 speeds) and Windows 8 without having to install drivers on each computer or deal with any of the above issues. I can deal with updating firmware for the dock so long as it is confirmed that it will 100% fix any of the above issues.
