Looking for any recommendations on the best way of using D7 with GFIMax/Teamviewer. I have used it a few times by just coping over the D7 directory temporarily to the clients machine and then doing the work remotely.

Looking to find the best way to use it remotely similar to what was done with the Instant house calls setup.

Any recommendations or tips appreciated.

That's pretty much the only way to use any software remotely; even in IHC, that's what gets done (even if more invisibly).

D7 supports creating an SFX version of itself that then DLs the rest of its components as needed.

GFI would have no connection to D7 in anyway as its remote monitoring and hands-off. It's Teamviewer/TakeControl part would be relevant here, of course.

I tested it today and everything is working until I got to combofix and it disconnected my teamviewer session a couple of times and now after rebooting this last time it isn't coming back up in the GFI portal so I guess I will have to make a trip to the customer tomorrow. They are only 3 minutes away from me so not so bad. Thought they would be a good customer to try this process via remote teamviewer session.

Combofix is a last resort, if theres remote techs out there using combofix on every a regular basis they must know some tricks I don't know because i've seen it cause internet loss on many occasions.

Should be no surprise. Combofix kills off all unnecessary processes but that's also something other than was asked in the OP. As had been said, CF is very much a last resort option and, generally, why I don't think virus removal is something that can be offered remotely.

D7, itself, does work just fine.

Actually I found out that Combofix wasn't the issue it actually was Kaspersky TDSS Killer. Will continue this testing for remote virus removal.

Thanks for the tips so far as I just did the SFX which I didn't even know about.

Every time I use D7 I find new stuff that it does and saves me so much time!

WOW! Apparently, my shadow-self is "Kowu: V.I.P". I wonder if he's a ninja!!

...and if there's some way to block TN content from their servers....?

Edit: I have added my own $.02 to their thread. We'll see if it stays.
Jeez, what a crap forum. Multiple copies of the same threads by different "posters".

I perform remote virus removals fairly frequently and have never had TDSS Killer drop my connection. However I learned early in the game that Combofix will kill the connection every time.

Yeah I cannot use Combofix, even at my full time job removing in with logmein or expert assist. It kills the remote session. Combofix is great and all, but I hate that you don't have control over what it actually does. It becomes a last resort for me but using D7 with all their options tends to take care of most, if not all my virus removal jobs.
