Logo options : UPDATED WITH NEW OPTION

UPDATE: PLEASE SEE MY OTHER LOGO OPTION IN MY NEW POST BELOW.

I really need a better logo. I have been trying to come up with something that I like and I am close but not sure which way to go.

This is what I have now.

These are my three options.

The monitor color can and will change just don't know to what yet.
Or option 4 something completely different.

So they can add a Wrench to my logo?
1 vote for option 4.

lmao

i really wish they had a ban hammer that you could boot people out of your contest if they can not follow directions. i said i dont want a pc or a mouse or a power icon, or anything like that in my logo and had plenty of submissions with those in it.

although i also had some quality entries. as well.

Well to be honest, a wrench might be an improvement over the options you gave us . . . I suggest having a real designer make you a logo.

Yeah I completely understand the reservation, but thats not quite the idea I was trying to communicate.

The thing about working with designers is that the quality of the results is almost entirely about the quality of the brief you provide in the first instance.

FWIW I have done this process a few times and have found best practice to provide a number of concrete examples of exactly what I am looking for (colours, composition, fonts, aspect ratio, etc). Pictures, not just text description.

A lot of the designers have english as a 2nd language - which doesnt mean their product is any less quality, just that the mode of communication needs to adapt to this.

Even for people with perfect English, decent visual cues will allow all concerned to hit the ground running.

If you provide a decent brief in the first instance you will get submissions that provide and expand on an initial concept.

But yeah, to be frank IMHO its a do-over. No offense intended.

I agree with Colony Data(his logo is great) and the general opinion. With a name like yours you don't need all the graphics. A couple of other things you need to think of is how the logo is used which in turn may affect your design colours. It will go on the web, print flyers, work sheets, newspaper ads, magazines etc I know when I first got mine done it looked great but when it got printed in the local newspaper at low res. colour it looked really wishy washy. I had to change the colours unfortunately I had my logo'd shirts done in the older, lighter colours. They still look good but I would have rathered they were all the same.

Well as I stated above color is not really the options here as they can be changed easily. The red monitor was set to that color so it stood out for posting here. I did say it can and will change. It was more the design but i guess this needs to be scraped?

All of them look a little too complex, and I can guarantee that your average user isn't going to pick up on the fact that you are using the USB logo in your own logo. Professional is the way to go.

So I took the advice of the logo being to complex or people not knowing what the USB icon even is.

Here is what I think I am going with. It is simple and to the point. One question is should I use the word affordable? Does that make it sound like cheap work?

You remember matrix paper / printers . . . you logo takes me back to those days . . . .

I don't know from the comment if that is good or bad. If you mean dated, what part.

I like this computer because depending on how you look at it represents a laptop or a PC Monitor with a keyboard in front of it. But the computer can be changed if you think it is dated.

I think the computer and the style of the logo itself is dated. I think you should get a designer to make you a logo . . .

/best advice ever

Get a designer ...

Do not make the logo you will be using anywhere from the next 2 months to the next 2 years look like it could be done in paint in 15 minutes.

I think you should get a professional to design your logo, your logo is your image. You need a vector that can be used for many different things such as leader heads, advertisements, even billboards and signage.

I agree with every one else. I thought I had a decent logo design, then I started a contest on 48hourlogos and was soo surprised how much better the designers on there made it look, and in the end I went with something completely different then what I started with. It was defiantly worth the $100 I paid for it and love my logo now. Its clean, has some color, and looks professional and is recognizable.

i would also recommend 99designs they have contests as well, its nice to have many different options to choose from.

I would have to agree with everyone else, get a professional to work his magic for you. You will agree once you have done so.

However, if you don't/can't hire someone to design a logo for you, I would suggest creating the "logo" part with "JL" and have it be incorporated with the "Computer Solutions" in some way. Make the slogan a little smaller, and you need color. Black and white will never look good/work. Visit www.dafont.com and find a nice font you like, slap in some color and you might be set.
