Linux mint is awesome!

I have an old Dell latitude D610 that i have setup as a dual boot between Mint and ubuntu and both work just fine.

Just wanted to say that I have been using Ubuntu for the past 3 years now, and I made the switch to Mint about 4 months ago. Mint is by far the best distro hands down. I love it!!!!!

Mint is definitely filled with more creamy awesomeness.

Mint is Awsome

I've just switched from Unbuntu to Mint for a couple of reasons
1. it has lower system requirements which is great for older machines with less memory.
2. I kinda give the fell of a windows machine fron the way it's layed out and functions as opposed ti Unbuntu.

Dont get me wrong both distros are great I just think mint is a better fit if your trying to move an end user over to Linux from Windows.

Mint is actually based on Ubuntu so don't get the lower system requirements unless its based on an out dated version of it.

If you have an older pc, instead of using Gnome or KDE, try one of the lighter DE's like Xfce or LXDE.

Linux Mint uses Ubuntu as its foundation. Basically the Mint developers does what they feel Ubuntu should have done in their latest release but didn't (or legally can't). So Linux Mint should have the edge over Ubuntu.

I use Linux as my main OS, and only have dual-boot on the main computer for my younger brother and mother. I use Bitdefender for Linux to scan other hard drives.
