Lenovo Yoga will only boot part way then hangs.
Tried USB Win10 install stick for repair same thing.
Booted up with Parted Magic will not read data I don't know if this is because of the drive not having correct drivers to mount.
When I try PC unlocker to reset password it blue screens, she has a 20 character password and not sure what it is
It has an M.2 SSD
Looks to me like there is a problem with SSD and not having a M.2 not sure how to proceed
I think it is just out of warranty.

It has a sticker on it from another shop echoing the same problem, that she did not mention so I will probably give it back, but out of interest would like to know if its possibly SSD for next time.

Since the Windows 10 installer and PC Unlocker are failing as well it's much more likely a RAM fault than the SSD.

Yes that makes sense with the blue screen
When the installer stopped there was an error code and a graphic
stop code DRIVER pNp WATCHDOG

It booted Parted Magic up from DVD that loads everything into RAM
This is what I get when trying to read SSD
Looks like the SSD is full of errors.
Can I do a chkdsk in PM I know there's a test disk

Looks like the SSD is full of errors.
That's normal for a Windows disk, where Windows has not been properly shut down – read the message in your screenshot.

You can still mount the disk read-only to take an image or back up user files, then nuke & pave if you don't want to buy an M.2 drive that may not be required.

This is why you spend a little bit to gain a lot. I have a M.2 SSD and M.2 NVMe always for purposes like this. They don't need to be big drives, just something and it also helps to have adapters in case you need to image or clone an M.2. I have 3 adapters: this and this for NVMe and this for SSD M.2's. Well worth the money for all and have paid for themselves many times over.

I called client today explaining problem he said it is still under warranty and when he took it in they told him it was software related
and would not honor it.
I told him to try again as its hardware it chokes with a win 10 boot USB, could be anything including SSD
if he brings it back to me I will order the adapter

it Looked like the M2 was full of errors because Parted Magic will not read Win 10 when it not fully shut down when you usually shut it down it goes into a locked hibernation mode
you have to do a restart or run cmd
Shutdown /s /t 0

I bought an adapter but that was not the problem
I took M2 chip out installed Win 10 put it back in the laptop and still would not boot
since it was still under warranty I told him to take it back and tell them its been confirmed not a software problem.

pretty sure it will be memory but you have to remove MB as its underneath
