I am trying to determine the difference between these 2 computers. There's a 500 dollar difference here. Is one of them last year's model. Also on the cheaper one it says it has win 7 pro but on recovery media it says win 8 pro, so don't know for sure. Probably a typo on that one.

Anyway, all the specs are the same etc. that I can see. I was just wondering if there's something I'm missing here.

Thanks

different graphics chipset, one has 512mb and the other 1GB of GPU Ram

1 has a 500GB HDD and the other a 1TB.... did you look at the specs? they are not the same....

although the cheaper one has better specs.... the price difference is because of back end rebates on the one model --- we just did a rollout and got almost $4,000 in backend credits.... they add up :) it's why I deal with distributors ONLY.

Yeah must be a rebate of some sort then. Yeah I kinda mispoke there, not exact same specs but very close, and the cheaper had better specs.

Thank you

no problem, I was just reading through and was like "wait a second..." lol

back end rebates are crazy somedays!

Not trying to hijack, but any reason you're ordering these from newegg instead of going the partner or distributor route? I just sold a couple of Optiplex 9010's with a very similar configuration, albeit with faster CPUs and better graphics. Just went on the partner store today, and they are the same price I paid before: $852 with free shipping.

The machine is loaded with Win 7. They send the Win 8 recovery set for future use. So you better image them to be able to keep the 7 if something goes wrong. or make the recovery set within Win 7.

Had a few through that I setup for customers.

Thanks for clearing that up. I kinda thought that was the case. I always image them just in case.

I plan on getting an account with D&H soon. Until recently I just felt I didn't do enough volume of anything to really make a difference.
