Out of all the solutions out there are there any that will show the last time the machine was online? I have a few months before my current solution is up and my only complaint is that I can't see when the last time the service/machine was started.

I'd like to be able to see and use it as a type of backup notification to see that a machine is being used and working besides what my RMM reporting says. Sometimes I have clients that don't power a laptop on for 30+ days and my RMM agent lets me know after 30 days, but sometimes they are logging on everyday and my RMM agent isn't working for whatever reason and doesn't report it for 30 days which equals 30 days of not doing RMM'ing. In the second case it would be nice to know earlier that something isn't working the way it should.

Thanks in advance for any info or better solution.

You might look into one of the laptop anti-theft/recovery programs, particularly ones with partner/reseller programs.

Prey doesn't have an official program, but their response has been "contact us and we can work something out," I suspect their pricing for something like that will be $1-1.50/month per device based on their largest "Home" plan for 10 devices at $15/month.

Absolute LoJack for Laptops is integrated with a lot of BIOSes and has an affiliate program of 15% or more (device licenses look like $30-40/year) so $2.50-3.25/month/device.

I'm sure there are a variety of other options out there.

At the cheaper side, you could set up something of your own to do a silent ping to your webserver at device startup or other times with a bit of basic information.
