Hi,

What do people use for taking apart laptops?

I am looking for something that won't damage the plastic, but is strong enough to prise off button panels etc?

Thanks,
Aaron

what i have seen is a clear plastic wedge, it look like a wood plane blade. but got myself i user my fingernail when they are long.

Flat head screw driver and knife blade for the ones you need a more narrow wedge. I have used other items but those two are generally what do it and worst I have done is a faint nick in the plastic. I think it is near impossible to prevent any physical cosmetic damage.

I get those stupid plastic wedges with every dell part I order. Their to cheap to use and will bend all the time. Its faster and easier to just use a flat blade and be careful.

But if you really wish to have one I have seen a few on ebay do a search for 'Repair Tool for Dell Plastic laptop Parts' These ones look a little better then the free ones I get, but I still think being careful with a flatblade works better.
