I'm looking a a way of storing say 5 or more laptops with their chargers etc either for waiting to be repaired or waiting for parts. I could probably build one but would rather buy one off the shelf. Anyone know of a good supplier in the uk?

This may not be what you had in mind but this is what I'm using:
http://www.target.com/Sterilite-28-qt-Underbed-Storage-Box/dp/B002SYQ0DC

I stack them up on top of one another and tape a card to the end of the storage box with the pertinent information about the laptop inside. I have had no problem get everything in one of these containers. It makes it easy to keep track of the screws and other parts that way. :)

head out to your local tesco metro or co-op and have a nose around back, i picked up a couple of crates that the store / deliver fruit and veg in.

Use the larges ones in the Garage for tools and computer parts.

They stack inside for space saving and stack on on top of each other with the supports adjusted.

I use an old filing cabinet to store laptops in. I put them in a plastic box similar to the one gikstar posted and then that goes into the cabinet.

I've got the same problem and your post got me thinking.
I use press seal bags from the supermarket to store drives/screws/covers when a notebook is partially dismantled for any amount of time.
Item No: LR34-100 at http://www.packagingproducts.com.au/shopping/shopdisplayproducts.asp?page=2 might be an extension of this method worth looking at.
Press Seal Poly Bags Height 305mm x Width 405mm 50um (Pack of 100)
For $26.20/100
For the investment I think I''ll try them, if they prove unsuitable then I'll have plenty of bags to store last night's dinner leftovers.
I noticed some larger ones when I did the search, 380x510mm which might be better but the min qty is 1000 and no price quoted at http://www.mcphersonpackaging.com.au/industrial.html
Then we can just bag and tag before stacking them in the out/pending rack.
The out/pending rack is a door-less cupboard I had built which is about 1800x1200 (6'x4') with 4x shelves and vertical braces/partitions.
I'm sure IKEA or the local budget kitchen and bathroom renovation place would have an equivalent.
Thanks for triggering the synapses, I should have thought of this ages ago.

Just an update on this. I found some storage boxes that stack in Staples(UK) which will probably be the same elsewhere. They do a range of sizes that stack/latch down and have carry handles as well built in. The 10 litre one is perfect for holding a laptop and power supply. Great for people short of space and a low cost as well. You can easily stack and protect 10 laptops under a table and probably with a bit of foam inside will do as in car transport as well.
