laptop screen gets lines when moved around

It's either the cable or the lcd itself is bad. When you have the bezel off wiggle the cable a bit where it goes near the hinge and see if that makes the screen act up. If it doesn't then it's the display that's bad.

Hi, I got a laptop where when you move the screen back and forth on the hinges it gets weird lines on it but moving it around fixes it. I am assuming this means the connector to the screen is a little loose or something? I just wanted to double check before i open this baby up.

have you tried running the built in Dell diagnostics via F12?.... i believe there is a test that you can do to check on whether the inverter is ok or not..

+1

Wiggling the cable will help you determine the source of the problem. I would also replace the inverter just in case. They are usually pretty cheap and it wouldn't hurt to be safe.
