Laptop mike does not work in messenger

Laptop mike does not work in FB messenger they can see her but not hear her she has no problem hearing and seeing them, mike works in Zoom and Skype
I just added an SSD and clean install Win 10, it was same problem with old installation. I am thinking it can only be FB messenger permissions.
I will try tomorrow with a usb head set

Have you tried talking to desktop Dave instead ?

This. Seen this happen quite a bit. You need to allow microphone access to that specific applicatin sometimes.

Seriously. I thought buddy's name was Laptop Mike as a nickname and he was being a dick because it was FP messenger.

I didn't even pick up on "mike" versus "mic" until I looked again today.

I deal with microphones so often when working in the theater, and occasionally on computers, that I instantly go "microphone" no matter how someone might happen to spell it.

Also make sure you don't have another tool that's taking it and won't let go. I found that out when I was comparing Video conferencing software. Someone told me that was the reason why my one service wasn't working after I ran Zoom.
