[BUG] Kabuto Client Installer

Seem to be having a problem with the client installer for Kabuto

first problem is every time I run it I get a .net error see screenshot attached.
it does install if I click cancel but this is no good to give to a client as intended.

I have tried 5+ pcs with different AVs installed there all the same
ive also tried with no AV and just the same. its something to do with the branding
logo that it drops when it installs. Is it just my installer or does everybody have
the same problem?

secondly its drops a jpg file (the branding logo) and a error log onto the desktop or
where ever its installed from and does not delete them after install.
ive tried installing from various locations but it always does the same thing.

Update
ive found someone else using Kabuto and downloaded there installer
it also errors?
just tested it on a completely clean 2012 server with no AV installed
this also errored

Must be how they are making the installer. I tested an older installer and it works fine. The one I downloaded today produced that error for me as well.

Installed on two machines on Friday without problems.
The only time I get this error is if I install Kabuto before .net 4.0
I keep the .net 4 installer on a USB key just in case I need it.

Hey there - We updated the installer recently. Is this still happening for you if you download a fresh copy?

No its not .net 4.0
I tried to install this and it refuses
says I already have it or better installed

No just tested it again for you Version 1.7 still broken

At this point it appears it's just the Client Installer. The tech one downloaded today runs fine. But the Client one gives the error mentioned above. Versions from Oct seem fine. W7 Enterprise w/ .net 4.0.30319

Just downloaded and tested latest Kabuto client installer
seems to be working fine now

We are seeing Eset blocking Kabuto now.
Have to disable it to get it to install, and also have to exclude a few IP addresses to allow it to sync etc.

The newest version should not be doing that, will contact ESET to make sure.

So once the clients update to 1.2.9, which is automatic, that will be fixed.
