Hello,

I am just starting out and have spent a couple of weeks building a site in my spare time.

I created the logo yesterday it took me a while to work out what would look best and I went with the simplistic look.

I would like some constructive critism and any tips. The main worry I have at the moment is content how I have typed it up does it come across as professional?

I was also 50/50 on whether to include prices or not.

I have not finished the site yet I still plan to add the following:

Contact us banner at the bottom of each page.
About us Page.
Contact us Page
Blog

The address is http://www.dkplus.co.uk

Thanks in advance.

Another tech going out and starting a business.. Great.. Just started mine so I'm excited and nervous..

The site looks great.. Very simple and easy for people to read.. For home and business services I think they should each get one page only with the services you offer listed. Don't need a page for each service. The 30 minute response time might be a problem for you later on. I mean if you are a job site and your phone rings constantly are you going to pickup in front of the customer? Personally I would not post your prices. Just say put down "call for pricing" or something like it. The logo is nice, but I have seen a lot of people using the Cross as a logo. You can keep it, but I think that logos represent the owner and its company. If the Cross represents you then great :)

Overall great job. The above is just one man's opinion. Gook luck..

Thanks for the response. Yes I may well just have a one page for home and business users then but wanted to put as much detail into it as possible.

I will change the response time I agree 30 minutes is not all that realistic.

The cross is supposed to be a plus my business is called DKPlus so I felt it represented the name of my business.

Any more advice would be much apprechiaed.

Well then keep that great logo of yours and let it shine :) I'm sending you a PM in a few minutes so check your inbox...

Thanks Jose. If anyone else would like to comment please do I need as much input as possible.

Thank you

Dan

Overall i like it. Shows my site is way too complicated.

I think your contact numbers should be larger and on the home page, if not on each page. Best of luck

Chris

Yeah, page titles are very important. They are what shows up as the title in google results, and they help SEO a lot. I would change it to "computer repair in city, state - business name of city, state". Also, add a description meta tag to the site if you haven't already. This is usually what shows up underneath the title in google. It doesn't effect SEO much so just try and have it so it makes potential clients want to click the link.

I have taken a lot of your points into consideration. I have made the site wider so I can fit more content in it.

I have removed all the menu links and have a page for each Home and Business.

I am playing with the idea of having Contact Us, FAQ etc top right of the site.

What do you guys think of that idea and the site in general at the moment?

Thanks for your advice.

Very nice site, I like the blue effect.

Just noticed though that Broadband/Wireless is listed twice
Installation & Upgrades: is this for software and hardware or both?

Other than that, it's very nice. Looking forward to seeing the completion-:)

Thanks. I have made lots more changes I have added a contact form the icon has also changed.

Can you guys tell me what you think of the font? Is it to small? Is the colour to light?

I plan to make a contact us banner for each page as well but was planning to buy a 0800 number to look more professional. What are other people's experiences with this? I plan to only start part time until I can afford to go on my own is it worth doing this opposed to having a mobile number?

I would also like your opinions on my content. Do I have enough? Does the site catch your eye and make you want to click another link?

Thanks for your opinions so far.
