Just got some Ubiquiti UVC gear to play with and demo.

Got the Mini camera in today, added it.
Realized I left the protective cover on the Pro camera, so took that off...IQ is better on that.
Have 2x dome cameras coming in by tomorrow....
Also got a Ubiquiti IP phone in which we'll setup with our freebie RingCentral account we got last week.

2x Dome cameras added this morning, most of them just focused around my area of the office (we have 4 suites) (don't laugh at my balding head from those dome cameras!)

Will probably deploy the domes downstairs tomorrow in the general office area for the storage business we're located in.
The Pro camera is currently pointed at the gate for one of the storage building wings....looking out the window through a screen..so she's dulled a bit for image quality.

I've been really interested in these phones, would like to have them for the office, however I am not even sure where to start with VoIP. I'll check out RingCentral, any other pointers on how to get started?

I did the same thing with the protective cover. My tech friend was over drinking beers in the garage and I commented on how disappointed I was with the image quality. He looked up and said you left the protective cover on dumb ass. We both laughed. I just updated the controller software to the latest version and must say they have improved it a lot since I first installed it back in September 14'.

Now here's an interesting bug for you @YeOldeStonecat

Your time is currently 18:42

My time is 23:42

Ubiquiti Software is displaying the recording time according to the time zone on the local PC, not the time that it was actually taken. I was wondering why at 10:20 am it was pitch black outside your office.

Thanks. Interesting. But I noticed that one of them has sound. That can be an issue in some locations. Last time I checked in MA you cannot record audio unless all parties explicitly consent in advance.

Concerning the Ubiquiti IP Phones -
Those look really smart. Haven't had a chance to play with one yet though.

I'll be interested to know your want you think of them.
I got one of the phones the other week. I will post some info on it in another thread tomorrow as to not hijack this one. The short of it is, cool phone but lots of bugs that need to be worked out. Definitely not ready to sell to your customers.

Guess I left that one on....pretty sure they all had a mic but I turned it off (just forgot one I guess).

As far as I'm aware, the only way to stop audio from being recorded is to go to Cameras -> Live Feed and turn the Mic level right down for each camera. If you turn the mic level down from live view, audio is still recorded. Either way, I think you can still override Mic levels from the app though.

I believe some users have resorted to disassembling the cameras and unplugging the mic from the board.

Thanks, that'd be interesting.

I'm considering buying one for my own use, to familiarise myself with them, with the possibility of selling/supporting them in future if they become a more stable product.

While I love Ubiquiti's flair for innovation, I get the impression they're spreading themselves a bit too thinly by expanding their product range and markets too quickly. Seems they need to focus on finishing and perfecting some of their existing product lines first. I just hope this doesn't become their downfall.
