Ok thats it - I cant hold my laughter anymore..

Im actually on about 10mbs. For some reason when I did the test the speedo went a bit haywire for a split second and this is what I got, so I figured I'd post it for a laugh.. :p

Speakeasy:
Download Speed: 990 kbps (123.8 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 368 kbps (46 KB/sec transfer rate)

Can't say its not consistent!

This is home. Using Comcast 4MG tier package wireless through a G router about 10 feet away, but this is rediculous! I used to do tech support for them a few years ago(living hell!). I used to hear speed/lost connection complaints all the time. They told us to disregard people calling in with test results from different speed test sites and tell these people these sites had inaccurate results and had hidden agendas to boost the profile of other ISPs.

I've been meaning to call about my speed but been busy and I know I'll be talking to some poor sap who a few years ago used to be me, and will feel sorry them. My other option is to cancel and switch to AT&T. Many of my neighbors have switched to them and I've heard good things. Anyone else like them? If they've already been mentioned in the thread, sorry I didn't notice but this is a long thread.

if your paying for a 4mgps plan your not actualy going to get 4mgps. there are a number of factors that can alter your speed, for 1, ISPs say what speed you get in bits not bytes so devide by 8 straight away, also line noise and distance from exchange etc influence pcket loss aswell.
