Job Notes while on the road?

Thanks @Pacific Blue IT, I have signed up for the trial and am currently setting it up with some test runs and all is looking pretty good so far. We have also had a bit of dialogue with the team at repairshopr and they have said that there are no plans to integrate with MYOB.

I can also give a thumbs up for Repairshopr, very responsive and I get the impression that they are constantly refining and improving their product. I am also still in the evaluation phase and still need to pick a bookkeeping service for integration.

Back to the original question of notes. Have you looked at Asana? I doesn't integrate with anything and is stand alone, but I love the app and depending on how much you can tweak your workflow it could work great for taking field notes.

Looks like I will have to give RepairShopr a try. Nothing so far has suited my needs or stuck with me.

I have been using RepairShopr since December and must say it works well for this. Then if I need to keep customer documentation like network layout, pictures of their server, etc then I document that stuff in Evernote.

+1 for RepairShopr and Asana. Still trialling RepairShopr but had some good one on one time with their team to run through the process.

Also Asana is great for documenting things and keeping track of things that need to be done.

I've been using an Aussie product called ServiceM8 - https://www.servicem8.com/. Costs nothing for the first 20 jobs each month, and also integrates with Xero (ditching MYOB was the best thing I ever did).

I played around with RepairShopr for a bit, and it does do some things I think I'd find valuable, so I might perhaps revisit it down the track. One of the key things I find useful with ServiceM8 is that there's a proper mobile app, which I can use offline. I'm in rural NSW, so mobile coverage can be non-existent when I'm on the road or at a client site, so a purely web-based approach like RepairShopr doesn't really cut it.

ServiceM8 does require an IOS device though - they don't support Android and apparently don't plan to. My solution to that was a 4G iPad mini which I use for all my mobile job management, site photos etc.
