You only need one thing to fix this. Have done this too many times to count. Get WinRAR.
Right click the folder/file and choose Add to Archive. On the dialog, check "Delete files after archiving". Then after it finishes, delete the archive. Done. Your welcome!
OP: You tried just booting to a command prompt and deleting from the command line - C:\> rd /S NameOfFolder from memory? Or boot from a Win PE or even Linux and go from there. Just thoughts.

I think people are starting to assume I was only having this issue with one folder.... It was with every folder.... Firing up Linux or some bootable repair every time I want to delete or edit a folder is absolutely ridiculous

unfortunately i believe it was entirely fences' fault... im testing all the things i had issues with before today and nothing is telling me i cant do it... i am planning on writing to stardock in a few days and letting them know the issue (just wanna make sure that was all that was wrong).... my desktop looks like hell without fences, but if i have to choose between a working pc and a pretty pc i would have to choose the working one
Does Fences have a support forum or similar? If it does that, then you're not going to be the first person to have had problems like this...maybe there's a workaround?
Edit: Hang on: You booted into a command prompt and it still wouldn't work? Surely Fences is not running at that point?
