I have an Enermax noisetaker 600w PSU here
(eg701ax-ve)
it has thermal control to allow it to spin the fans faster when it gets hot and also to keep a fan spinning once the pc is shut down until the PSU temp is below 40oC, additional to this it has a control on the back to control the fan speed.
Currently whilst on the fans run at full speed regardless of where the fan control on the rear is positioned, and it also keeps the fans permanently spinning.
So obviously there is a fault with the thermal control circuit.
I have opened up the case and the thermostat is just attached to one of the heatsinks, now apart from a bit of dust in it I can't see any broken wires or burnt out components (although to be fair visibility is quite poor as its a fairly well packed PSU)
Has anyone ever heard of this or a fix for it ?
Thanks
James
