Is anyone else having the Windows 7 activation problem? Is there a fix?

Built a new system with Windows 7 Professional. Windows activated ok, then some time later, started getting notification that the copy of Windows is not genuine and needed to be activated. It would not go through the activation process, just kept saying that it was not valid. After literally hours of searching online it became apparent that this is a widespread problem, but I only found one fix that would work.

Well here we are weeks later and it's doing it again, only now the fix that worked before is not even working now.

Anyone been though this or know of a way to fix this?

Thanks

hmmmm... i think your OS is installed by pirated cd is it right ????? ...if NO then you have licence key then you can get updates and technical support of MS...if yes then you can remove windows genuine advantage...and after it just turn off windows update.... this process you can do with some command from command prompt ...
thank you ...:)

No, it's definitely not pirated. It's a Genuine Windows 7 Professional. I actually did call Microsoft for support, they told me I would have to pay for support. I said well this is a widespread problem, and the guy indicated that yes it is and recommended looking around on the internet.. HUH? Microsoft is well aware that there is a problem with this but I have to pay to even speak with someone about it? There are a ton of very angry people in the forums I have read, even on TechNet, yet no one from MS has even addressed it. Out of sight - out of mind I guess.

How was the disc for the OS acquired?

If you know the vendor...it is time contact them then.

I think his name is Guido. He stands down on the corner, usually in a trench coat. He's got about anything you could ask for.

Sorry, couldn't resist....

Got it from Newegg. It's original. It validated fine originally.. it was validated for weeks before this crap started. There are a lot of people having this problem. Just can't find a fix.
