I drive a Mazda-3 that looks like this.
With encouragement from other members here, I have loaded Waze on my IPhone-5 and am really liking it.
The one big problem that I am having is that I need to get the IPhone closer to eye-level and within easy reach.
We have 'distracted driving' laws here in Ontario so I cannot hold the phone.
Lastly we have hot, cold, rain and snow so I want to be comfortable and not obstruct any vents (including the sides).
All suggestions as to what holder/adapter to use are appreciated.

PS I am still planning (maybe) to use my resurrected TomTom GPS.

Gee, nice car but how do you drive it with the steering wheel on the wrong side!;):p:D

Search for air vent smart phone mount. My daughter has one and she likes it a lot. Her's is a version where there is a magnet stuck to the back of the iphone which sticks to a metal disk. But they also have clip versions. She's also a big fan of Waze.

I normally wear my Iphone in a case that is in a holster (on my belt) similar to this.
The case is for protection in case I drop it.
The holster is for convenience and anti-leaving-it-on-someone's-desk :)
Removing and putting the protective case back on is a chore as it is composed of three parts of which 2 are tight and snap together.
I did a bit of quick checking last night and from what I can see, the type of holder that you mention specifically mentions not to use cases, etc.

Lastly, is your daughter in an area with a diversity of weather conditions?
Also, does she find that it interferes with the clearing of the drivers window?

Edit: One more question. Does she find that the USB cable going from the car's USB outlet to her phone gets in the way?

Hers, a 6S by the way, is in a protective case as well but it contains the magnet which sticks to the metal disc that is part of the holder. I asked her if she has a link to where she got it. If I get it I'll let you know. I'm looking for one as well but cannot use the integrated case model as I have a case with a battery.

She's in DC so the temp extreme's not like up north, but they are still there. The vents in her VW is similar to yours. She mounts it in the one on the right, closest to her. Never mentioned a problem with airflow, etc. USB cable goes to a lighter plug adapter just forward of the stick, looks fine to me.

Edit: The case is separate. Got it reversed. The metal disc is on the back of the phone and the magnet is part of the fixture in the vent. I'm going to order one for myself since I'll be able to use it with the battery case. Links

Thanks for that Mark.
The Iphone-5 vent mount looks much more involved ... unless they are not showing all the parts for the 6s in your link.

Hmm.... Your link looks completely different than what I see on mine. The first one I posted is for the magnet with vent clip. Picture below. The second link is for the adhesive backed metal disc that gets stuck to the back of the phone. It's universal because of that. By the way I've ordered one for me, should be here Thursday. But Amazon's 2 day Prime often does not get here in 2 days.

I checked at Amazon.ca because the specs on yours only mentioned Iphone 6 and 6-s.

Like this one that is ~$60 CDN? .... plus $18 shipping.
Yours is $7 USD.
However, mine swivels.

Yep. But the one I ordered did not have the ball and socket to allow movement. I'm sure that's a big reason for the price difference. After looking at the comments I think I'll cancel what I ordered and get the model you linked to. I think standing further away from the vent is better as noted by some of the reviewers.

Is this the swivel that you are buying?
It is about $9 USD.
Mine which seems to have the same model # is $80 (including shipping)!!
